Mental Health Practitioner, Licensed Professional Counselor

She/Her

Maya Angelou said it best, “people will never forget how you made them feel”. At my core, I am a humanistic, person-centered therapist. Therefore, I take my role as a therapist seriously by always displaying unconditional respect toward my clients. I view clients as people, not as diagnoses. I want to know who a client is beyond their diagnosis: interests, goals, support system, etc. Additionally, I feel that clients should have a say in their treatment; no one knows a client better than the client. I utilize a collaborative session style, where I strive for clients to feel safe and comfortable with contributing to how their treatment is managed.

My style of therapy is integrative. I utilize multiple therapeutic approaches, as therapy is not “one-size-fits-all”. The therapeutic approaches I utilize most frequently are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Expressive Arts Therapy. Specifically, I have worked with clients and their families affected by anxiety, depression, life transitions, gambling addiction, divorce, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, hallucinations, loss and grief, suicidality, and low self-esteem. I have experience working with marginalized clients from varying cultural, ethnic, sexual, and religious backgrounds. A client’s safety is at the forefront of my mind at all times, as is the establishment and continuation of a trusting therapeutic rapport. Please reach out to see if we’d be a good fit. I look forward to being part of your mental wellness journey.
