Psychology Today profile: Dr. Faith Onyambu, Psy.D.

“As a psychologist, I aim to foster a safe space for children and their families to feel heard, empowered, and equipped. Through compassion and genuine curiosity, I utilize evidence-based interventions in a manner that is trauma-informed and culturally responsive. I also provide comprehensive psychological evaluations for ADHD, mood, and behavioral concerns.

My professional interests are often informed by my desire to address mental health disparities impacting BIPOC communities. I particularly welcome the opportunity to come alongside children and families that identify as BIPOC, Latinx, or of Immigrant background. I work with children and families from all racial and ethnic backgrounds and provide therapeutic care for concerns that include: Mood/Behavioral Concerns, Disturbance & Disorders; Immigrant/Acculturation/Racial-related Stress, Trauma & Concerns; Grief/Loss, Life Transitions & Trauma; Faith/Religious/Spiritual Concerns & Parent Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT) for parents with children (ages 3-8) who have significant behavioral difficulties.”
