Sydney Dobrzynski, B.A.

Mental Health Clinical Trainee

“I am a clinical psychology doctoral student under the supervision of Dr. Reena Pathak, PsyD LP. I take a client-centered and collaborative approach with primarily dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT) skills, integrating emotion-focused therapy (EFT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) skills and activities when helpful in addressing specific concerns. While life and the world are unpredictable, we can work together in building resilience and peace within ourselves. In our work together, my goal is to provide warmth and a safe space to explore who you are and build a "tool kit" of skills to help relieve whatever is holding you back from your goals, big or small. In my work, I have always appreciated getting to know the complexities of others, as everyone has a unique story to be told. Whether we come from similar or highly different backgrounds, I will always approach our sessions with humility and curiosity to collaboratively build a treatment plan as unique as you. Past clients have described me as personable, warm, expressive, and honest, many appreciating my use of humor.

I grew up guiding my friends through difficult life circumstances and supporting them when receiving daunting diagnoses, sparking my passion to work in the mental health field. From a young age, I found my purpose in building connections with others and seeing people grow into the best version of themselves. Now I will have the privilege to do it for my career after obtaining my degree. While I am not working or studying, I enjoy being with my dog and playing my comfort video games with friends.”
