Mental Health Clinical Trainee
She/Her/Hers
“My interest in counseling is grounded in a commitment to empathy, curiosity, and respect for each individual’s unique story. I am particularly interested in how people make meaning of their experiences and how those perspectives influence emotions, behaviors, and relationships. I am drawn to integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help individuals identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, while also utilizing narrative therapy to support clients in externalizing their experiences and reshaping the stories they tell about themselves. Additionally, I value the use of Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore the different “parts” of the self, fostering self-compassion and a deeper understanding of internal dynamics.
Together, these approaches allow individuals to explore their inner world while also developing practical skills to cope, heal, and grow. In my work with others, I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to express themselves openly. I am attentive to the importance of cultural humility and aim to understand how identity, environment, and lived experiences shape each person’s worldview. I incorporate CBT techniques to support clients in developing coping strategies and cognitive reframes, while narrative approaches help center their voice and lived experience. Through an IFS-informed lens, I aim to help clients build a compassionate relationship with themselves, honoring all parts of their experience. I believe that counseling is a collaborative process, and I seek to meet clients where they are, honoring their strengths while supporting them through areas of difficulty.”
